If ever you have a chance to indulge yourself something rotten, here is the place to do it! Constantia Uitsig is a small hotel set in the midst of a vineyard in the shadow of Constantia mountain, just 20 minutes or so from the centre of Cape Town.
Here you will find peace, tranquility and quality. There are three really serious restaurants here - last night we enjoyed Constantia Uitsig, tonight will be La Colombe and tomorrow's lunch at the River Cafe. Bliss!
During the day we deserted this paradise on earth to head down to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope enjoying wonderful scenery along the way. It was a bit crowded, being a Sunday, but an excellent day, culminating in a visit to the African Penguin colony at Boulders. Brilliant!
Oh now I feel very nostalgic.
Lunch at Constantia...the ducks in the swimming pool (why were there ducks in the swimming pool?!)... watching a late afternoon game of cricket on their own pitch with a glass of something in my hand... and the food!
Very jealous.
